So, with added extra days to Memorial Day because winter was so mild, we needed to figure out what to do with the kids. Choices for hotel were either Vermont or Maryland, but nightly rates made our choice for us; and choosing to leave Sunday and return Tuesday made driving easier traffic-wise. The Lord Baltimore Hotel was our next destination!
Day 1 – Food first after the drive…. Delicious food at The Point Fells right across the street from our first stop, Urban Pirate adventure! Food was very good (chicken and waffles and a breakfast bowl were our choices and they had drink specials for brunch). We did our homework and found a Groupon for a good price for the Urban Pirates. It was a lot of fun and the actors have lots of energy for the kids. Tip: Always check Groupon and other discount/reward websites for deals!
Up next was The National Aquarium. Tip: Buy the tixx for here online/on your phone…The line was slow The place was huge and so much to see; kids had a blast.
After that experience we got to check into the Lord Baltimore Hotel! A pretty hotel in a good location with friendly staff, but not all that much more to write about. I think this trip was definitely more about the experiences.

Night-time activity – The Little Mermaid at the Harbor East theater not too far of a drive from the hotel. Fun movie and they validate parking which was a plus.
Day 2 – Started off at Ihop because we were hungry and it was close to where we were going, but not the best experience…Slow service, food disappointing. We got out of there and headed for Port Discovery where the kids had an awesome time with all the interactive experiences. They climbed, painted, built things and got wet up in the water play section. The time spent at Port Discovery was really time well spent (and when you get your bracelet you can come and go for the rest of the day).

For the afternoon we decided to hit up Rocky Point Park and Beach (about 20 min away) since it was Memorial Day after all, and we wanted to get some beach in. The park was full of people bbqing, kids on the playground, people swimming, etc. We were able to spend a few hours there enjoying the nice weather and the kids made some friends and played and played. The park was very clean and there were park people there maintaining everything.
Food and the next activity were now up. We found Wayward over in White Marsh which was a very chill place, outdoor seating good music and space for the kids. Good food, good drinks then off to Dave and Busters for some good old-fashioned arcade time. We all had fun playing lots of games and of course spending money on little plastic trinkets at the end. Back to the hotel we went; had to get ready for the ride home.
Day 3 – We had breakfast at the hotel LB Bistro and it was ok, nothing to write home about, then off to the Maryland Zoo. It was a perfect day for the zoo, not too hot, not too cold; couldn’t ask for better. We saw all the zoo animals and got to ride the carousel and train. When it was time to head out we wanted to eat but the line was long (it was also expensive as expected in these places) so I found a spot just 5 min away, called Chucks Trading Post. We got there and didn’t look like much from the outside, but the food was great; the Turkey B.A.L.T. was so good, highly recommend.
