An "Iconic" Family Adventure

As a family with two young kids, my husband and I wanted to figure out a way to travel. After a tough trip to Arizona (and by tough, I mean like 10 #2 diaper changes in 6 hours) on an airplane we decided we were going to stick to driving trips over weekends.

One random day I came across a list of “The Most Iconic Hotels in Every State.” I clicked through the slide show, and I just had an “aha” moment…Why don’t we try it? I ran it by my husband, and he was like “Sure, we can give it a try…Could be fun.” And with that, off I went into planning mode.

So, I sat down and created a Google sheet with every hotel, location, and rewards program they belong to. I created a doc as well and did some research into hotels that would be close to each other (Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, for instance) so we could plan for a longer vacation and hit them up all at once. Tip: Knowing your budget (or the highest you’ll be willing to spend) can help with selecting the hotels you want to do and when.

After doing all of the research and documenting it was like “ok, so when will we actually do this” and we decided to start the new year (2022) on our quest…Now, where to? This is where our adventure begins 🙂
